Meet Dr. Caraveo
Dr. Daniel Caraveo, DDS
Dr. Caraveo started at our practice in 2010 and worked as a dentist in the US Army before that. He says the best thing about working at Benchmark Family Dentist is the great staff. Originally from El Paso, Dr. Caraveo earned a BS from St. Mary’s University before continuing onto the Baylor College of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Caraveo enjoys photography, hiking, traveling, video games, playing and crafting with kids, and watching movies.
Meet Dr. ("Doc") Edmondson
Dr. ("Doc") Edmondson joined Fossum Family Dental Group in June 2016. As a general dentist, he has a variety of experience in many areas of dentistry, including maintenance, restorative, cosmetic, endodontic, extractions and dentures, crown and bridge, implants and tip-edge orthodontics. His years of practice have given him opportunities in the advancement of his dental skills. Dr. Edmondson worked in a dental clinic in Cedar Hill, Texas before acquiring a dental clinic in Odessa, Texas, which is to date, the oldest established dental practice in Odessa. Dr. Edmondson postponed retirement to continue his love of practicing dentistry and enrich his patient's smiles with his gentle dental southern gentleman mannerism.
Dr. Edmondson graduated from the University Of Texas Dental Branch, Houston in 1970, after spending three years at the University Of Texas in Austin, where he fast tracked and was accepted early into dental school. After completing dental school, Dr. Edmondson served two years in The United States Air Force as a Captain practicing dentistry at Barksdale Air Force base in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Dr. Edmondson has been affiliated with Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, Permian Basin District Dental Society, G P Academy of Orthodontics, United States Air Force Retired Reserves. Has served with the Southern Baptist Missionary Association and traveled to Burkina Faso in May 1993 to donate his time in a dental clinic.
Dr. Edmondson grew up in Odessa, Texas where his dad was the only American Board Certified Surgeon for over thirty years. During Dr. Edmondson’s years practicing dentistry in Odessa, he enjoyed being a part of The West Texas Roughriders group entertaining at the Permian Basin Fair each year for nearly thirty years, where he got the nickname, Doc.
Dr. Edmondson has been married forty years to his wife Ann, who ran his dental practice and now writes children’s books, including The Candy Stew, about his dental practice, and novels. His daughter, Emily, is a LMT in Hawaii, illustrated his children’s story and works with his musician son, David. Doc is dedicated to helping his family and others and can’t sit still with his high energy.
